Engr. Yap, New MIS Officer

City Mayor James ‘’Bong’’ Gordon, Jr. has appointed Engineer Noel Yap as the new head of the Management Information System (MIS) Office of the Olongapo City Government.

“I am certain that Engineer Noel Yap’s specialization and lengthy experience on information technology is indispensable in MIS Office’s duty to keep the entire city government’s information system working as efficient and effective as possible,” Mayor Gordon said.

Engineer Yap, in his speech, assured that he will do whatever he can to fulfill his responsibilities as the new MIS officer. “I am looking forward for an excellent relationship with everybody”, Yap said.

Yap’s professional experiences and educational qualifications speak of his capability to pilot the MIS office.

He began his professional career as a full-time instructor in Columban College, then a Computer Service Engineer in a well-known company in Makati City. He was appointed as Head of the Industrial Technology Center (ITC) of Columban College and Administrator of the Meralco Foundation Scholarship for Industrial Technology Program. Yap is currently a full-time Professor and a Microsoft Licensing Coordinator of Columban College.

Engr. Yap is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering (BSECE) from the University of Sto. Tomas (UST). He earned units of Master in Business Administration and Master of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He is also a Master’s Degree Holder of Science in Information and Technology.

It is MIS’ duty to run the Network System of the City Hall Complex to provide the various offices with information and technical support. MIS is also duty-bound to formulate and propose policies and strategies pertaining to information technology.
