Police officers' training school to rise in Subic

CONSTRUCTION of the biggest values and leadership training school for police officers will soon start here after the top brass of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) formally broke ground for the PNP School for Values and Leadership (PSVL) on Tuesday.

PNP Director-General Avelino Razon Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremony with SBMA Chairman Feliciano Salonga and SBMA Administrator Armand Arreza less than three months after the three officials signed a memorandum of agreement for the project on February 13.

The facility, which will be erected at Subic’s naval magazine area, is expected to be completed in three months this August.

The PSVL can accommodate 120 commissioned and non-commissioned officers per batch, with each training lasting from 30 to 60 days.

“Today, as we break ground for this training school, we are breaking ground as well for the eventual realization of a significant part of our reform agenda, which is to bring back to the community a more credible, professional and purpose-driven Mamang Pulis and Aling Pulis,” he said.
