Man killed in Olongapo road accident
A man was killed in Olongapo City after being dragged by a passenger jeepney after falling down from his motorcycle, police authorities said on Monday.
In a phone interview with GMANews.TV, SPO2 Mariano Pastor of Brgy. Baretto police in Olongapo identified the victim as Virgil Villanueva, 31, of 1772 Fountain St. East Tapinac, Olongapo City.
Belated police reports said Villanueva was aboard his motorcycle with plate number XRN 9919 CN heading to Subic at about 5:20 p.m. on Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle and subsequently got hit and dragged by a passenger jeepney, said the police.
Villanueva was immediately rushed to Mount Carmel Clinic in Olongapo City but attending physician Dr. Eva Esteban declared him dead on arrival, said Pastor.
He added that a concerned citizen reported the incident to the police.
So far no charges have been pressed against Sirilo Lymiad, the driver of the passenger jeepney. - Johanna Camille Sisante, GMANews.TV
