New Zealand national found dead in Olongapo hotel room

A New Zealand national was found dead inside his room at Travel Lodge Hotel located on Magsaysay Ave. in Olongapo City on Monday, according to a belated report received at this camp.

In his report, Sr. Supt. Avelardo Villacorta, Olongapo City police director, identified the victim as Rex Norman Frazer, 61, who was billeted at Room 9 of the hotel.

Villacorta said the victim appeared to be just visiting Olongapo as he was actually residing temporarily at Sitios Subivision in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

He said that a room boy of the hotel saw Frazer lying face down on his bed and was already on a state of decomposition.

Investigation showed that the room boy decided to open Frazer's room after smelling foul odor emanating from it.

According to one report, the victim was last seen alive on Dec. 13 by the hotel employees and he had stayed in his room since then.

The victim's car, a Toyota Vios with plate No. ZFR-698, was seen parked near the hotel since Saturday.

Villacorta said he had ordered Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) to further investigate the incident. (PNA)
