Hundreds got job at yesterdays fair

Hundred of job seekers were hired yesterday during a jobs fair held at Olongapo City Convention Center to celebrate the 64th birthday of Senator Richard Gordon.

Bagumbayan Volunteers of Olongapo spearheaded the affair which was supported by TESDA, PESO, WOW, Subic Bay IT Council, Guam Task Force and the Olongapo Local Govt Unit.

Mayor Bong Gordon delivered an inpirational message while TESDA Regional Director Yolly Olano gave tips to increase the applicant's chances of landing a job.

Other TESDA Provincial Heads present are Dir. Elizabeth DM Manio (Zambales), Dir. Remedios Flotado (Bataan) and Dir. Benhur Baniqued of Pampanga.

Hanjin will be recruiting thousands of workers to complement the shipbuilding company's expansion in which they infused an additionsl 86 million dollars to meet the demands.

Sutherland Global Services committed to hire one thousand additional call center agents while Neorex and George Dewey Medical and Wellness Center required hudred of workers for their hotel/restaurant business and hospital staffs repectively.

Blood Letting successfully held in Gapo

More than 200 donors participated in a blood letting program held last Friday at the Olongapo City Convention Center to celebrate the 64th birthday of Senator Richard J. Gordon, Chairman of Philippine National Red Cross.

Lions Club, Olongapo City, SBMA and several other business organization sponsored the activity.

Olongapo Business Club Officers inducted

The new set of officers and members of the Metro Olongapo Chamber of Commerce was inducted by Mr. Ed Lacson, National President of Philippine Chamber of Commerce in a ceremony held at Olongapo City Convention Center.

Past President Sam del Rosario handed over the organization's leadership to Bong Pineda.

Several prominent businessmen were given the Entrepreneural Recognition Award for their achievements and contribution to the city in general.
