SBMA Failing to Protect Subic Residents

This is a major problem that has been reported to the SBMA police and Subic Homes for the past two years with no resolution. You are correct in that the numbers of these non-resident adults is rapidly increasing and so is the crime level in the vicinity of this basketball court.

Graffiti, apparently gang related, has recently been spray painted on the waiting shed adjacent to the basketball court/playground and nails have been put into the car tires of nearby residents.

Resident children have been chased away from using this basketball court by these 25-30 year old men and they have been cursed at and threatened by them if they don't leave.

SBMA presents itself to the public as a great place to live, while in fact the security of its residents is rapidly becoming no better and, at times, even worse than the surrounding community.

I'm sure, for example, if residents of Binictican tried to take over a basketball court in East Bajac Bajac, they would be quickly chased away by Barangay officials. Why isn't that being done here in Binictican, especially where residents are paying a high premium to live here and use the facilities of their neighborhood?

Residents expect exclusive and safe use of the facilities they are paying for. We have no Barangay officials here to solve problems such as this. SBMA and its officials need to take action to resolve this problem immediately.

Readers are encouraged to use the SBMA voluntary statement to make their concerns about this issue known. If enough residents complain, SBMA might wake up and take some action. The statement can be downloaded at:
