Babot laid to rest

Precy “Babot” Macaraeg Gregorio, one of the City’s active volunteers, passed away on December 31, 2007 at the age of 57. Her remains was cremated yesterday at Olongapo Memorial Park.

She will always be remembered as one of the unconventional few, who worked side-by-side with men in an endeavor most women will hardly dare to involve - police matters. During the time of then Congresswoman and Mayor, Honorable Kate H. Gordon, she served as an executive assistant assigned to work in coordination with the police force. Her willingness to stand at the frontline for the implementation of the curfew for minors, vagrancy and other pertinent laws and her participation as one of the special civilian agents and organic teams for special police operations, earned her not the rank but the title “General”, a word coined for her exceptional strength of character, courage, sacrificial efforts, candidness and resilience.

As a volunteer, she was often seen helping in rescue and relief operations as one of the firsts to respond. Beneath her strong viewpoints was a generous heart beating for the needy.

Babot always made her presence count, stamped her uncompromising sense of loyalty to the people she loved best and stood firmly on her principles. She displayed it best during the SBMA Siege, putting her very own life at stake to protect the very roots that made Subic.

As a fighter, she had conquered the many battles and major tests of time, but as mother, grandmother and friend, she basked herself in the simple joys of living and enjoyed every bit of time. Her jolly disposition in the midst of trouble and her contagious energy that lights up her commitments will serve as pages for us to learn from.

THE CITY UNITES IN EXPRESSING PROFOUND LAMENTATIONS TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF PRECY “BABOT” MACARAEG GREGORIO.

MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Homecoming Tribute to Babot (Presentacion Gregorio Abas) 1950-2007

Babot went home on Dec 31, 2007 to be with the LORD JESUS CHRIST her SAVIOR.... It's GOD's grace that brought her safe thus far, and God's grace leads her to her CREATORS's HOME in heaven built not by human hands where there will be no sorrow nor pains nor tears nor death. Absent from the body but at home with the LORD (2 Cor. 5:8) and to us who are in HIS hand things don't just happened. They're planned by GOD's own hand In the light of HIS Holy WORD - We are not alone in our hours of pain GOD's grace is sufficient enought....So beyond our natural sorrows there's joy that comes from knowing the realities of HIS presence and promise: the ETERNAL LIFE with JESUS CHRIST, the RESURRECTION and the LIFE. We shed tears because we missed our loved ones...but we REJOICE because we are celebrating LIFE not DEATH..."Neither death nor life nor any powers will be able to separate us from the love of GOD which is in CHRIST JESUS (Rom 8:28-29) we will missed you, Babot, We love you dearly and TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

She is survived by her children Boyet & Che, Ponggay & John Salang, and Yetyet & Carol, her grandchildren Kimberly, Ida, Decdec, Carlo, Johnjohn, Maxim, Mayet, and her brothers and sisters Andy, Manuel, Ernesto Jr, and Bot Gregorio, Connie Leyva, Rexy Cruz, and Ting Farrales.
