City Public Library, To Conduct Literacy Project at City Jail
The City Public Library headed by Beth Daduya will conduct a literacy project at the Olongapo City Jail on January 16, 2008.
With the theme “Power of Information at Olongapo City Jail”, the city jail in-mates will be provided livelihood trainings. Likewise, the system of a ladderized education will be introduced.
Daduya believes that such literacy project will be helpful for the in-mates after serving terms in prison.
Assisting the City Library with the said project are the City Planning and Development and Livelihood and Cooperative Development Office.
Meanwhile, Mayor Bong Gordon gives his full support for the city library’s activity. The mayor is certain that the in-mates will surely benefit from the project and will also help them become productive members of the community.
Like his late father, James L. Gordon, Sr., Mayor Gordon also prioritizes education. It is one of his 10-point agenda.
