Mayor Bong Gordon’s Welding Training program continues to provide job opportunities for Olongapeños.

Another one hundred ninety eight (198) welding trainees of the City Government’s Skills Training Program have qualified for employment with Hanjin Heavy Industries and Constrution Co., Ltd. recently.

Mayor Gordon proudly announced on Monday that 198 welding training graduates of his program will be starting for work for Hanjin this January.

“I am glad that our trainees are able to avail opportunities to work in huge companies such as Hanjin”, Mayor Gordon stated.

It can be recalled that a few months ago, 200 trainees of the program have also passed the first phases of screening and interviews for job opportunities in Australia.

As of now, over 2000 graduates of the program have been employed by Hanjin which also known as one of the largest shipbuilding company in the world.

The mayor likewise encouraged interested Olongapeños to avail of the Skills Training program of the city government as other citizens of neighboring provinces of the city also yearn for the opportunity it provides. For enrollees who want to sign up with the training program and for other inquiries, call telephone numbers 224-8390 loc.4229 or 4246.
