Hanjin welder pinned to death

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A welder was pinned to death by a steel plate Sunday in another accident at the shipyard of Hanjin Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. In Subic, Zambales.

Reports said the victim, Oliver Labbay, 32, was grinding a steel plate when suddenly another steel plate collapsed and fell on his back.

Last January 18, two welders, Mario Lacsamana and Jeremias Adamos, were killed when a welding machine exploded.

Last March, two rig operators, Eduardo Molina and Niel Mojica, were killed when a steel platform struck them while working on a quay wall.
